Important Information

Privacy Policy

Joule EP, LLC (“Joule,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides energy management, sourcing, governance, and risk advisory services to commercial and industrial organizations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at gojoule.com (the “Site”) and to the information we handle in the course of serving our clients.

Confidentiality is the foundation of our work. Because we operate alongside our clients’ organizations, we see contracts, usage data, and financial exposure. We treat all of it with the same discipline that defines the engagement. This policy describes how.

Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways:

Information you provide. When you contact us, request a risk review, or subscribe to our updates, you may give us your name, business email, company, role, and any details you include in your message.

Client engagement data. To manage energy on your behalf, we receive and process operational and financial information such as utility bills and invoices, meter and usage data, supply contracts and pricing, account and site details, and budget and exposure information. This data is shared with us by the client or, with the client’s authorization, by their utilities, suppliers, or brokers.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring links, through cookies and similar technologies.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver our services — sourcing, invoice oversight, market timing, risk reporting, and demand management — and to perform our obligations under client agreements.

  • Respond to inquiries, schedule reviews, and communicate with you about your engagement.

  • Produce the analysis and reporting our clients rely on, including usage, exposure, and budget insight.

  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site and our communications.

  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.

We do not use client engagement data for any purpose beyond serving that client, except as required by law.

Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, including access controls, encryption in transit, and limiting access to authorized personnel. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain the historical record our clients rely on for governance and renewals, and meet our legal, tax, and contractual obligations. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.

Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly and to understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Site works.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
